Profiling A Sponsor: MoveInsure, Revolutionizing Moving Insurance

If you’ve followed my other posts, you probably already know that I consider myself a moving pro.  Even though I’m a pro, that doesn’t mean I get easily excited about moving… or any aspect of moving.  However, when something really nifty comes along  in the moving industry (like I discussed in my Eureka Quotes post last week), it can definitely pique my interest.

In my last full-service move all of the typical things happened.  The moving company came in, looked at all of our stuff and gave us an non-binding estimate.   When we agreed to the terms and signed the papers, they gave us the bill of lading and then he presented us with the option of insurance.  Stopped me in my tracks!  I must have forgotten that moving insurance was an additional cost.  Well, it doesn’t have to be- you can accept the useless released value insurance and be on your merry way, but if they drop your $2,000 plasma TV, you’re going to get about $60 for it!  Naturally, that did not sound like a really great option to us, so we opted for the heavy-duty Full-Value Protection Insurance.  After all, it has a great ring to it, doesn’t it?

Now, seven years later, I look back and am thankful that nothing catastrophic happened to our belongings because I’ve since found out that dealing directly with a moving company who isn’t an affiliate of an actual moving insurance company can be a complete nightmare!  Enter MoveInsure.

If you choose to purchase your insurance on the spot, the following screens direct you to enter all of the information to save your quote for future retrieval as well as enter the information for your chosen moving company (you’ll need their name and complete address).  You’re then brought to this screen where you are given your option of how you will value the items in your move:

If you choose to do an inventory list, you’re taken to a screen which allows you to specify each item within your move and the value of each item.  If you choose the lump sum option, you decide what value per pound you wish to assign to your entire move, enter the value, and then you’re given a quote and an option to purchase the policy.

Frankly, I recommend the inventory option- yes, it’s a bit more time consuming, BUT I think it’s better because it allows you to get specific- you probably don’t need moving insurance on bed pillows and comforters, but you’d probably want it on a plasma television or a leather couch.

MoveInsure also gives you additional coverages, such as pairs and sets and storage extension coverage as well as different deductible options – $250, $500, $1,000 so there’s always an option that will fit your budget.  The flexibility  of rates, coverage and service is unheard of in the moving insurance industry!  And, once you purchase your policy, you will have your printable insurance certificate in, literally, less than two minutes directly to your email.  It just doesn’t get any better than that!
