Two Men and A Truck Gives Back: Movers For Mom

Naturally, as a writer for a consumer moving guide, I have my Google alerts setup for important words like moving company, moving companies, moving scam, etc.

It seems that week after week, one moving company keeps appearing in my alerts either for awards of excellence or for giving back to the community!

While Two Men And A Truck locations are independently owned and operated, the company as a whole, obviously stresses the importance of giving back to each of the franchises’ respective communities.  And, this time, they’re focusing on a new cause: Movers For Moms.

Movers For Moms is a “movement” that asks Two Men And A Truck Franchisees to find a women’s shelter to partner with in their community.  The franchisees collect personal goods via the community (and local schools) for women in shelters across the nation.  Two Men And A Truck then delivers those goods, free of charge, to the women’s shelters to give out to the mothers staying at the shelters, on Mother’s Day.

To date over 100 locations, like Two Men And A Truck Las Vegas, have jumped on the bandwagon to help this worthwhile cause!  In addition, nearly 200 schools across the nation have partnered with Movers For Mom to help collect items.  Some of the items, some locations  are collecting include:

  • Gift cards from Wal-Mart, K-Mart, WiseWay, Target, Walgreens, Town & Country Market, Kohl’s, and JC Penney, Michael’s, VISA, Redbox, and Blockbuster Express
  • Liquid Hand Soap
  • Tall Kitchen Garbage Bags
  • Spray Disinfectants
  • Dishwasher Detergent (tablets)
  • Notebooks
  • Markers
  • Loose Leaf Paper
  • Two Pocket Folders
  • Watercolor Paints
  • Paper Plates
  • Diapers (4, 5, 6)
  • New Socks and Underwear
  • Hair Brushes
  • Cereal
  • After School Snacks
  • Used Cell Phones
  • Towels
  • Board Games
  • Fabric Paint
  • Alarm Clocks
  • New Sweats

If you’re interested in participating in the drive, you can contact your local TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® to discover collection locations and to discover what items they are needing!

Thanks, once again, Two Men And A Truck, for providing such outstanding service and dedication to local communities!  You make the moving community proud!
